Jürgen Klopp Unveiled as the New Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull!
Red Bull appoints Jürgen Klopp as the new Global Head of Soccer to drive its strategic vision and initiatives effective January 1, 2025. The former Liverpool manager will oversee the strategic vision and development of Red Bull’s international network of soccer clubs, in what is being called one of the biggest appointments in the company's sports history.
Klopp, 57, steps into this new role after concluding a highly successful nine-year tenure at Liverpool Football Club, where he led the club to multiple major honours, including the Champions League, The Premier League, and The Football Association Cup, among others.
As Global Head of Soccer, Klopp will focus on supporting sports directors, mentoring coaches, and helping to develop talent across Red Bull’s network. Although he will not be involved in the day-to-day operations of individual clubs, Klopp’s influence is expected to shape Red Bull’s global football strategy in the coming years.
"After almost 25 years on the sideline, I couldn’t be more excited to take on this project,” Klopp stated. “I want to develop, improve, and support the incredible football talent we have at our disposal.”
Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO Corporate Projects & Investments at Red Bull, praised the appointment, calling it "the strongest signing in Red Bull's soccer history".
A formal press conference to introduce Klopp as the Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull is scheduled for mid-January 2025.
